BVE CROATIA VALLIS AUREA

How to make backgorunds for BVE

Good background image improves every BVE route.
Therefore, I have to write small tuitorial about
making such background images.

1. You need to download freeware graphic editors: IrfanView and
MAGIX Xtreme Photo Design.

2. Resize your photo to 1024*768 pixels and save it in JPEG format.

3. Select portion of background. Size should be around 512 pixels in width and 256 pixels in height.
Height should be very near to 256 while width can be smaller.
Note that you should select ground also because certain part of image will not be visible in BVE.

4. Save image in BMP format (like back1.bmp).

5. Flip the image horizontal and save it as new image (for example back2.bmp).

pan3

6. Close Irfan View and open MAGIX Xtreme. Then, click the File and Create panorama pictures.

pan4

7. When new window is shown, click Add and select your back1.bmp and back2.bmp.

pan5

8. Now you see them in bottom line. Dubble click on it or drag-dropp them in upper window.

pan6

9. Enlarge it and play around with sliders and Current overlap settings. Do not use vertical slider!
Have in mind that image is not to wide because it has to be resized later.

10. Click ok and then save image as (for example) Panorama.bmp.

11. Scaling the image. Now resize image to default BVE settings (512*256 pixels).

12. Put it in your route and that's it :-)

I know that Luigi Cartello wrote simillar tutorial few years ago, but now I can't find it. This free programs are very usable,
playing around with them you can improve results. I suggest using your own pictures, or borrow them from authors (respecting
their copyright).

At DOWNLOAD PAGE (object section) you can find free background images ready for use in your route.

I hope I have helped you. Enjoy, best regards.
